Custom Stained Glass Creations
Fabrication Process
The crafting of each stained glass piece begins, not only with the choice or creation of a pattern, but the meticulous selection of glass to be used based on its color, opacity and texture. Only the finest glass is used from manufactures such as Wissmach, Kokomo, Bullseye, Uroboros, Youghiogheny and more. Fabrication in the Tiffany method requires cutting each piece of glass, grinding it into the proper shape, individually wrapping each piece in a thin copper foil and then soldering the entire creation and stabilizing it with a border of either copper, lead or zinc. A patina is then applied to colorize the lead solder to an antique copper or black finish.
